Learning Something New
February 7th, 2011 @ Tony Pagliocco // No Comments
With 2011 upon us, I decided that maybe it is a good time to learn something new. I figured that with a new job coming up, a new set of values…that it would be time to learn something new. When I first learned the basics of the Agile framework, it was not something I planned and to become so passionate about something I wasn’t expecting to, that was really cool. Now the question is what do I learn?
Having looked at a lot of new and interesting technologies, I’m trying to debate on if I should be learning a new language, a new development framework, or new tangible technology. With my new company working on an innovative set of projects in Drupal, I’m leaning towards making Drupal my 2011 project. In terms of methodologies, I believe that I want to also begin incorporating Xtreme Programming into the mix as well, because I see many benefits it can provide to a new Scrum team but at the same time, help with learning the ins and outs of something new as well.
So there it is, Drupal is on the books for 2011, is XP? Not sure yet. Regardless, I know I”ll be able to find the resources and I want to share my thoughts and findings so I can hopefully just help one person.
